Volunteers Wanted: Land Use Impacts of Transportation Revenue
The ULI Infrastructure Initiative is looking for volunteers in the San
Francisco area to help staff a workshop on the land use impacts of
tolls, vehicle-miles-traveled (VMT) taxes, and congestion pricing on
managed lanes. Workshop participants include leading thinkers on land
use and transportation from the western United States and Canada.
Staff support needs include working with the facilitators for small
and large group discussions and taking detailed notes during the
workshop that will help inform the final published report. Volunteers
will be acknowledged in the final report.
§ Explore, through structured small and large group discussions, the
impacts of highway tolls, VMT taxes, and congestion pricing on land
use, development patterns, and societal equity.
§ Elevate the importance of land use as various transportation policy
and revenue choices are debated at the federal, state and local levels
over the coming decade.
The invitation-only workshop is being held in downtown San Francisco
on June 14, 8:30am-3:00pm. Volunteers are requested to be able to
commit to the entire workshop.
Interested volunteers should contact Sarah Jo Peterson at
sarah.peterson@... by June 11, 2012.
