      Climate Change, Water, and Planning

      Date: Wednesday, March 7, 2012
      Time: 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
      Location: San José City Hall, W120, 200 East Santa Clara Street, San José.
      Cost: Free

      Learn what researchers and practitioners are saying and doing about climate
      change impacts on sea-level in the Bay Area: general planning and approaches
      to adapting to rising tides; and application of current understanding to
      infrastructure and development planning. A panel of experts will discuss
      plans and potential impacts for the region and locally with plenty of time
      for comments and questions.

      Registration, networking and refreshments start at 6 PM.

      Speakers:
      Matthew Herbeger, PE
      Matthew is a researcher at the non-profit Pacific Institute in Oakland,
      California. His current research covers water supply and water quality,
      water and energy, and impacts of climate change on water resources.
      Rich Walter, ICF International
      Rich is the leader of ICF's California municipal climate action planning
      practice which advises municipal clients on addressing both greenhouse gas
      emissions and adaptation to climate change impacts through NEPA, CEQA,
      general plans and climate action plans.
      Eric Biland, PE
      Eric is senior water resources engineer at Kimley Horn and Associates. He
      provides expertise in permanent and construction BMPs, hydrology/hydraulic
      analyses, calculations, studies and reports as well as CEQA and agency
      permitting.
