      The Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the tri-county area of Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey Counties. The non-profit arm of the AMBAG is Regional Analysis and Planning Services, Inc. (RAPS).
      RAPS has hosted or supported the Monterey Bay Area Tri-County Economic Conference for the last 10 years in the Monterey Bay Area. Conference attendees are provided with the "State of Our Region" report every year after the conference. The State of Our Region report includes data points on demographics, economic indicators, education and other social characteristics for the Monterey Bay Area.

      Position Summary:
      RAPS is seeking a qualified candidate to provide assistance to the Project Manager for the 2011-2012 State of the Region Report. This is a part-time, temporary position that starts in January and ends in April with a possibility of working some hours by telecommuting.
      Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
      • Preparation of InDesign document;
      • Downloading and organizing data;
      • Creating charts, graphs and tables of the data.

      Knowledge of:
      • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite 4 and Microsoft Excel;
      • Familiarity with Census, Department of Finance, Bureau of Labor Statistics and other data sources;
      • Experience mining for economic and demographic data;
      • Minimum one year experience in urban and regional planning, economics or related field.

      Training and Experience:
      Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities may qualify the candidate for selection.

      Required Skills:
      • Good written and oral communication skills;
      • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office;
      • Working knowledge of best practices for document design;
      • Detail oriented, highly organized and ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines;
      • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

      Computer Skills:
      To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet Explorer.

      None.
