      Ecologic Institute Washington DC has an outstanding opportunity for a
      student intern in its project office in San Mateo, CA.

      *Research and Project Assistant - Minimum 15-20 hrs/wk*

      - Assist with research, editing, and writing of reports and articles
      - Perform data and literature research, summarize and present findings
      in concise form
      - Help identify funding opportunities and draft letters of inquiry
      - Assist in the development of relationships with project partners and
      in project-related communication Help with administrative activities

      *Skills & Qualifications:*

      - The ideal candidate will be a graduate student or a highly-skilled
      advanced undergraduate in environmental sciences, public policy, political
      science, or statistics. In addition: An understanding of current
      environmental policy issues is preferred and desired areas of
      specialization include resource and energy efficiency, climate change
      policy and sustainability assessment.
      - Basic knowledge of the California environmental policy and legislative
      - Excellent research, reading, writing and communication skills
      - Is self-motivated, highly organized, and has the capacity to multitask
      under limited guidance from senior staff
      - Proficiency in MS Office
      - Desirable is some basic understanding of statistical analysis and
      spatial mapping and analysis software
      - German language skills are an asset but not required

      *Other Details (Dates, Stipend)*

      - The start of the internship is flexible, but should be between
      November 1, 2011 and January 1, 2012
      - A minimum commitment of six months is expected
      - Interns at Ecologic Institute are eligible for either a monthly
      stipend of $500 or class credit
      - Foreign students are eligible but applicants must hold a valid F-1 or
      J-1 visa as well as the appropriate work authorization to receive
      compensation. EIUS is a recognized host organization for J-1 visa trainees.
