      As the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Monterey, San Benito

      AMBAG is currently seeking an experienced GIS Coordinator with five
      years of experience in relational database management and GIS.
      Additional skills in statistical analysis, programming languages, GIS
      and travel demand modeling are highly desirable.

      The position provides technical support to the Regional Travel Demand
      Model (RTDM) as well as other analytical assistance to AMBAG programs.
      The GIS Coordinator develops, maintains and improves the GIS database;
      oversees and performs complex, integrated, geo-referenced database
      tasks and spatially oriented work. The GIS Coordinator also provides
      technical and logistical support to the five County Central Coast
      Joint Data Committee (CCJDC). Special projects that the incumbent may
      work on include RTDM, origin-destination study and the development of
      a GIS based land use model that will support AMBAG modeling needs.

      The incumbent will be also expected to assist with data and analysis
      needs related to the development of the greenhouse gas emission
      reduction strategy in the upcoming Metropolitan Transportation Plan
      update as well as other projects. Since many AMBAG activities are
      grant funded, there are many opportunities to apply for grants to
