Greenbelt Alliance - Temporary Part-Time Contract Position
- Greenbelt Alliance, the San Francisco Bay Area's advocate for open spaces and vibrant places, seeks an experienced candidate to help coordinate our South Santa Clara County Open Space protection campaign efforts. The successful candidate will work as an
independent contractor. This is a temporary part-time contract position.
Greenbelt Alliance has identified southern Santa Clara County as a region-wide priority to protect its open spacethe hillsides, ranchlands, working farms, wildlife corridors, and local communities from San Jose's Coyote Valley to Gilroy's famed garlic fields.
The county is the Bay Area's fastest growing and an economic engine for the state, which makes protecting its natural areas critically important in maintaining Silicon Valley's appeal.
The South Santa Clara County Campaign Coordinator will support Greenbelt Alliance's open space protection work in South Santa Clara County. The primary focus will be to lead Greenbelt Alliance's participation in a South County visioning process in collaboration with the Committee for Green Foothills. In addition the coordinator will support ongoing efforts to limit urban expansion onto agricultural land and increase community participation in advocating for open space protection. The ideal candidate has experience coordinating educational outreach events, mobilizing communities, and
building support for conservation goals.
The South Santa Clara County Campaign Coordinator will report to the South Bay Senior Field Representative. The Coordinator will primarily work remotely, with regular meetings in Greenbelt Alliance's San Jose office. The position is anticipated to last
approximately 8 months and require approximately 30 hours per week with a varied schedule (includes nights and weekends).
