      Job Title: Affordable Homeownership Graduate Internship/Part-Time Work

      Description: The Cornerstone Partnership seeks a masters-level student
      intern to assist in our work reaching and engaging our approximately
      200 members nationally. Work will include developing a national member
      engagement plan, developing systems for implementing the plan and
      initializing execution of the plan. Scope could also include project
      work related to ongoing operations within Cornerstone Partnership such
      as working on and participating in webinars with members and field
      experts, participating in drafting some field reporting and
      interfacing with technical assistance grants participants. This
      position is located in the Oakland, CA office and reports to the
      Cornerstone Partnership Technical Assistance Manager. The intern will
      work closely with a variety of nonprofit and public entities.

      Member Outreach and Engagement Plan

      Currently Cornerstone Partnership has over 200 individual members
      representing approximately 150 unique organizations nationally.
      Cornerstone’s target audience comprises homeownership program managers
      and practitioners.
      • Member Analysis
      • Review existing outreach and member engagement media, e.g. webinar
      process, e-news letter, registration forms, website information and
      • Develop Engagement Plan with the two pronged goal of retaining
      existing members and growing membership over time
      Other Projects May Include

      • Plan and participate in at least one webinar
      • Work on Technical Assistance (TA) provider training curriculum and TA tools
      • Help with TA grant evaluation process
      • Copy-edit reports, conduct light research on homeownership related
      topics, communicate with TA grantees, charter members and/or partners
      • Provide creative ideas and feedback on overall initiative projects

      Team Participation

      • Participate in and contribute to weekly team meetings with
      Cornerstone director and team
      • Contribute creatively to ongoing discussion of Cornerstone’s
      strategic direction
      • Be willing to participate in other team projects as needed


      Candidate should be successfully working towards a master’s degree
      preferably in planning, public policy, public administration or
      related field. Strong interpersonal skills, interest in learning about
      affordable homeownership and community development, basic researching
      and excellent writing skills are required. Must be able to work
      independently and as part of a team. Candidate must demonstrate
      commitment to community development through experience or research and
      be enthusiastic about joining a new effort.


      • Between 10 and 20 hours weekly
      • February through May 2011 with potential opportunity to extend into the summer
      • Rate will be $25/hour plus some reimbursable expenses
      • Located in the Oakland, CA office at 1333 Broadway, Ste. 602
