      ) assists nonprofit and government housing agencies to create, acquire
      and preserve energy efficient homes affordable to lower income
      households, while providing leadership on housing preservation policy
      and funding.  CHPC coordinates the efforts of a coalition of
      California nonprofit and local government housing agencies working
      together to increase federal resources to preserve and expand
      affordable rental homes and to improve the efficiency of federal and
      state programs.  One of the resource areas we focus on is the
      opportunity for investment of energy efficiency resources in low
      income rental housing. Our goal is to expand access to federal and
      state energy efficiency resources administered by the State of
      California to include significant investment in low-income multifamily
      rental housing as a priority. CHPC is hiring a full-time Coordinator
      to assist the Housing Policy Manager and President in managing the
      day-to-day aspects of our Green Rental home Efficiency Network
      (GREEN), as well as providing support to CHPC's overall policy
      objectives.

      Primary Duties and Responsibilities

      Serve as the primary contact, organizer, and coordinator for the GREEN
      Working Group.
      Establish and expand contacts with representatives from interested
      organizations with shared interests across California.
      Establish and maintain relationships with key California state
      legislative staff and at California Energy Regulatory and
      Administrative Agencies.
      Attend important California state legislative and regulatory committee
      and commission meetings; summarize proceedings and speak on behalf of
      CHPC and the GREEN Working Group.
      Update and maintain our online clearinghouse of green retrofit
      financing resources for owners and operators of low-income rental
      homes in California, including federal and state funding program
      summaries, service provider directory, federal, state, and local
      government agency directory, event calendar, and list of training
      pportunities.
      Assist the Housing Policy Manager with the production and distribution
      of email newsletters regarding energy efficiency financing news,
      legislative updates, case studies, and action agenda for low-income
      rental housing stakeholders in California.
      Provide administrative support to policy, preservation, and financial
      consulting teams as necessary.

      Qualifications

      Bachelors degree in Public Policy, Planning or related field or
      comparable work experience (graduate degree a plus).
      Demonstrated commitment to affordable housing and/or sustainable
      community development and energy policy.
      Experience organizing and managing a policy oriented stakeholders group.
      Understanding of public agencies and government processes.
      Strong organizational skills, including the ability to set priorities,
      juggle multiple tasks, organize time, and meet assigned deadlines.
      Excellent written and oral business communications and research skills.
      Aptitude for creative thinking and problem solving.
      Self-motivated and highly detail oriented.
      Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work productively in a team
      environment.
      Must be able to work in a noisy and fast paced setting.
      Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.

      This is a full-time position with excellent benefits.

      The employee will be based in the CHPC San Francisco Office but be
      expected to travel to Sacramento for meetings on a regular basis.
