      Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning Sub-Consultant
      Wheeler Planning

Wheeler Planning, an award-winning pedestrian and bicycle planning firm,
seeks an experienced Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning Sub-Consultant to
provide part-time services for the countywide bicycle and pedestrian
program of the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority
(ACTIA). The sub-consultant will coordinate and implement educational
programs, promotional efforts, conferences and workshops, and collect and
analyze pedestrian and bicycle data. The sub-consultant will also track
and monitor sales tax funds, produce reports and publications, assistant
in staffing advisory committees and working groups, help update the
countywide pedestrian and bicycle plans, advocate for increased funding
for bicycle and pedestrian activity, and perform other tasks as assigned.

Requires a minimum of two years of experience in bicycle and/or pedestrian
planning, advocacy, promotion or educational outreach, or master’s degree
in transportation planning, urban planning or related field. Excellent
written, verbal, quantitative, project management and interpersonal skills
      required.

This contract begins as soon as possible (preferably by August 31, 2010),
is 15-20 hours/week, and extends through June 2011. The sub-consultant
must co-locate at ACTIA’s offices in downtown Oakland a minimum of two
days per week. Wheeler Planning is available to advise the selected
sub-consultant on the fairly simple task of establishing him/her-self as
an independent consultant, if needed. Compensation is commensurate with
      experience.

The sub-consulting contract is available until filled. For a full
      description and application instructions, see
