Imagining a Vibrant El Camino: A Smarter Future for the Grand Boulevard

When you stroll down El Camino Real in 20 years, what do you want to see?
Hop on the bus with Sierra Club, the Grand Boulevard Initiative, Housing
Leadership Council of San Mateo County, SamTrans, and Greenbelt Alliance
for a visionary tour of what El Camino could be.

According to Greenbelt Alliance research, El Camino is among seven smart
spots around the region where new homes and jobs are a natural fit. In
fact, this vital corridor can comfortably accommodate 14% of the region’s
growth. Our tour will profile affordable homes near transit, opportunity
sites for better pedestrian connections, and thriving downtown areas.
Connecting 19 cities and towns, El Camino can become a “Grand Boulevard”
of homes, jobs, shops, and parks, linked by a robust transit network.
