Do you want to make a change - on campus, in your community, around the
world? How do you even begin to bring about the dramatic shift you want to
      create?

Join Social Entrepreneur in Residence and Ashoka Fellow Jane Leu next
Tuesday Feb 9th at the Clark Fishbowl, 12-2 for an information session on
an emerging strategy for creating widespread social change. Social
entrepreneurship is the practice of creating systemic solutions to social
problems using innovative, sustainable, scalable, and measurable
approaches. Jane has joined the SJSU community for the next few weeks to
help students and faculty enhance their ability to achieve social impact.
On Tuesday Jane will be giving students a preview of her upcoming
activities on campus and asking for input on what types of programs and
events students would like to see. Jane is an accomplished social
entrepreneur who is excited to share her background and some of the skills
that have made her and her organization so effective. Join her next
Tuesday for an exciting conversation (Lunch will be provided)!

Also, Friday the 12th, from 12-2 at Room 100F in Clark Hall, Jane will be
hosting a workshop that focuses on funding and growing your on-campus or
off-campus social venture (any organization/club/program/group that
creates some form of positive impact on society), nonprofit organization
or business with a social mission. Bake sales not raising enough money for
your student org? Do you want to learn how to approach an investor or
funder about your idea? Jane started her organization with no funding and
raised and generated more than $10M from venture capitalists, partnership,
governments and individuals. Join a seasoned expert who has extensive
experience fundraising and scaling a program from a local Bay Area
initiative to a national organization (www.upwardlyglobal.org). Learn how
to hone your pitch and frame your project in an enticing way (Lunch will
      be provided).
