BART Silicon Valley: Keeping the Momentum Going!
Please join the WTS San Francisco Bay Area Chapter for a panel discussion
on the BART Silicon Valley Extension – an important regional
transportation improvement project long overdue. It is vital to the Bay
Area region connecting 3 major population and business centers (San
Francisco, Oakland, & San Jose) which will benefit commuters, residents,
and businesses by reducing pollution and traffic jams. The project will
also enhance mobility, create jobs and bring long-term economic benefits
to Silicon Valley and beyond.
Eileen Goodwin of Apex Strategies will facilitate the discussion between
our esteemed panelists and engage the audience in an interactive question
and answer session. Carolyn Gonot, Chief SVRT Program Officer for the
Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, will present the project’s
scope and milestones, future opportunities and overall benefits. Randy
Rentschler, Director of Legislation and Public Affairs for the
Metropolitan Transportation Commission, will provide the regional
perspective and discuss funding milestones critical to delivering projects
of this magnitude. Chris Quinn, BART’s Deputy Executive Manager for
Transit System Development, will share the Owner/Operator experience and
update the audience on current activities that are keeping the momentum
going to bring BART to Silicon Valley.
