Internships and/or Part-time Positions
The part-time intern or employee provides research, administrative, and
executive assistance for multiple activities related to the research and
academic efforts related to one or more of the following projects:
Documenting the Burden of Asthma on Schools;
Youth development and student engagement in community environmental
Reclaiming our Black and Latino youth (youth development);
Review of income and children’s health status; and
Other projects related to health, education, land use, and urban
Tasks may include:
Data analysis, both quantitative and qualitative;
Design of survey and interview instruments;
Interviews of policy makers;
Committee on Human Subjects Approval forms and renewals; and
Drafting documents, reports, and articles.
Projects may also require coordination with other researchers and other
Several projects relate to grant proposals, and, if successful, the
position(s) may become full-time.
Excellent writing and communication skills;
Excellent organizational skills;
Background in public health, public policy, and/or City and Regional
Qualitative or quantitative research skills,
Knowledge of environmental issues and public health is a plus.
Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
