Job Title - Specialty Environmental Monitors

Primary Job Responsibilities
The Specialty Environmental Monitors will inspect and monitor contractor
activities for compliance with environmental performance requirements in
specific specialty (i.e., biology, hydrology, etc.). The Specialty
Environmental Monitors have the authority to halt specific activities that
violate project permits or have potential to significantly impacts natural
resources. Significant client interaction. Reviews procedures and
conducts construction monitoring for compliance with environmental
regulations, permits, etc.; installs, operates and maintains monitoring
instruments; plans and conducts work using independent judgment in
evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard scientific techniques,
procedures, and criteria; and prepares reports of studies and monitoring
Training and Experience
10-15 years of experience required, BS or MS in scientific discipline,
computer literacy in software typical of discipline is preferred, advanced
degree may be required. Biologist, environmental scientist, historian , or
as appropriate for the specific specialty (biology, hydrology,
archaeology, historic and Native American issues, paleontology,arborist,
etc.), with a baccalaureate degree in appropriate field of specialty and
ten (10)years experience, including three (3) years of construction
monitoring and five (5) years of Environmental handling experience.
Verifiable experience handling permits from appropriate regulatory
agencies for the specific specialty
