      Reporting to the General Manager and the Capital Corridor Joint Powers
      Board, the Managing Director, Capital Corridor assumes full management
      responsibility for overseeing and directing the operation and management
      of Capitol Corridor passenger rail service.

      Key responsibilities include negotiating with both Amtrak and Union
      Pacific on such items as operating cost components, the development of the
      system's annual budget and strategic plans for operating and sustaining
      expanded services; coordinating efforts to secure additional state and
      federal funding for various capital projects including rolling stock
      procurement of coaches and locomotives as well as continued maintenance of
      the existing infrastructure; and cultivating strategic relationships with
      various federal and state transit agencies essential to running the
      railway.

      Minimum requirements:
      - A Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, public
      administration or a closely related field from an accredited college or
      university.
      - Seven (7) years of (full-time equivalent) verifiable professional public
      or private transportation experience which must have included at least
      four (4) years of management responsibility.

      Salary:
      Annual salary range for this position is $136,560 - $211,672. The District
      also offers an outstanding benefits package.
