      Planner or Associate Planner
Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments
Location: Marina, California, 93933, United States
      Posted on: August 31, 2009
      Category: Transportation
      Experience: Entry level

As the Council of Governments for the Monterey Bay area and as the
Metropolitan Planning Organization for Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz
counties, the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG)
performs a wide range of regional planning activities for its member
      jurisdictions.
AMBAG is currently seeking a planner at either the entry-level or
associate level. This position is limited to one year from date of hire.
Extensions to this period are dependent upon grant funding.

All applicants must fill out an application form available at the AMBAG
      website (http://www.ambag.org/employment/index.htm). Salary information is
also available on the job flyer on the website. A complete application
means that applicants submit cover letter, resume, and a completed
      application form.

Entry level staff members will be expected to participate in the full
range of AMBAG projects, following supervisory instructions to complete
tasks in a timely manner. Associate staff members are expected to be
journey-level with demonstrated ability to follow supervisory direction in
executing projects, anticipating needs and coordinating with other staff
as needed to complete projects in a timely manner.

AMBAG is engaged in a very broad based range of projects, in which the
candidate will be considered to participate. Projects may include
activities such as a regional visioning effort; conducting public outreach
for several planning projects including the 2010 update of the
Metropolitan Transportation Plan; regional plan development and
airport-land use planning and other exciting projects.

Since most AMBAG activities are grant funded there are many opportunities
to apply for grants to broaden the professional scope of the incumbent.
With additional grant funding the position’s term may be extended.

Complete job applications may be sent to:
      Randy Deshazo
      AMBAG
      POB 809
      Marina, CA 93933-0809

      or rdeshazo@... No phone calls.

Applications that are incomplete or received after 9/14/09 will not be
      considered.
