      Wheeler Planning

      Wheeler Planning, an award-winning pedestrian and bicycle planning firm,
      seeks an experienced Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning Sub-Consultant to
      provide part-time services for the countywide bicycle and pedestrian
      program of the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority
      (ACTIA). The sub-consultant will track and monitor sales tax funds,
      produce reports and publications, assistant in staffing advisory
      committees and working groups, help update the countywide pedestrian and
      bicycle plans, and advocate for increased funding for bicycle and
      pedestrian activity. The sub-consultant will also coordinate and implement
      educational programs, marketing efforts, conferences and workshops,
      collect and analyze pedestrian and bicycle data, and perform other tasks
      as assigned.

      Requires a minimum of two years of experience in bicycle and/or pedestrian
      planning, advocacy, promotion or educational outreach, or master?s degree
      in transportation planning, urban planning or related field. Excellent
      written, verbal, quantitative, project management and interpersonal skills
      required.

      This one-year contract begins on or around July 1, 2009, and is
      approximately 20 hours/week. The sub-consultant must co-locate at ACTIA?s
      offices in downtown Oakland a minimum of two days per week. Compensation
      is commensurate with experience.
