      THE FUTURE OF DIRIDON STATION

Please join the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of WTS and the Department
of Urban and Regional Planning at San José State University for a panel
discussion on the Future of Diridon Station.

      Our panelists will be:
? Ian McAvoy, Director of Development, PCJPB/ Caltrain
? Leyla Hedayat, Project Manager, Santa Clara Valley Transportation
      Authority
? Hans Larsen, Deputy Director, City of San Jose
      * Moderator ? Rod Diridon, Sr., Chair Emeritus & Member, California High
Speed Rail Authority Board,& Executive Director, Mineta Transportation
      Institute

Diridon Station serves as the central passenger rail depot for the City of
San Jose and is a major transit hub for Santa Clara County and the Bay
Area. There are great plans for its future, including the addition of BART
and California High Speed Rail platforms. Since the station is listed on
the National Register of Historic Places, its architectural and historical
elements are significant. Upgrading this facility while keeping its great
history intact will make this an exciting yet challenging redevelopment
      project.
