Planning Commission � Deadline: December 19, 2008
The San Jose City Council is accepting applications until Friday, December 19, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. to one seat on the Planning Commission for an unexpired term ending June 30, 2010. Applicants to this Commission must have been both citizens of the United States and residents of the City of San Jose for one year preceding appointment, and additionally must be registered voters in the City of San Jose at the time of appointment.
The Planning Commission advises and makes recommendations to the City Council on all matters relating to the future physical development of the City with respect to land use and development zoning and subdivision regulations, and the City�s Capital Improvement Programs.
Appointment Process: All applications received by the deadline will be submitted to the Mayor and Council Members who, in turn, will notify the City Clerk as to whom they would like to interview. Applicants receiving four or more such indications of interest will be asked to appear and be interviewed by the Mayor and Council during a special Council meeting to be held in the morning of January 20, 2009. Applicant receiving six or more votes, or the highest number of votes over six, will be appointed to serve on the Planning Commission.
