      USAJOBS Control No. II6464

They are looking for people to do on-site cataloguing of historical buildings and landscapes.  It's a summer job, and seems like a gem of an opportunity for the right student.

Here's part of their job description:
      The Historic American Buildings
Survey/Historic American Engineering Record/Historic American Landscapes
Survey (HABS/HAER/HALS), a division of the National Park Service, seeks
applications from qualified individuals for summer employment documenting historic sites and structures of architectural, landscape and technological significance.  Duties involve on-site field work and preparation of historical reports, and measured and interpretive drawings for the HABS/HAER/HALS Collection at the Prints and Photographs Division of the Library of Congress. Projects normally last for twelve weeks, beginning in May/June but do not exceed September 30th.  Salaries range from entry level positions at $5,400 to more senior positions at approximately $9,200 for the summer, depending on job responsibility, locality of the project, and level of experience."
