      Transportation and Land Use Coalition

Please forward this announcement to your friends!

Are you interested in encouraging the use of environmentally-friendly transportation and helping to inform people about alternative transportation choices in their neighborhood? TALC's TravelChoice program has a new Berkeley outreach campaign and is looking for enthusiastic individuals for two positions:
      • community outreach personnel to help with the phone bank campaign
      • neighborhood canvassers to walk Berkeley streets and talk with residents
TravelChoice is an innovative new program to reduce auto trips. The program is conducting outreach to Berkeley's south and west ends. TravelChoice will contact approximately 7,500 households by the end of the year, with the goal of reducing solo driving trips by 9% by increasing transit usage, biking, and walking.

The educational campaign uses innovative social marketing techniques and is modeled after similar projects around the world. It follows two successful TravelChoice campaigns in 2006 in the City of Alameda and Oakland's Fruitvale District.
