      and Environmental Future

      Latino Issues Forum (LIF) is a non-profit public policy and advocacy
      institute dedicated to advancing new and innovative public policy
      solutions for a better, more equitable and prosperous society. LIF’s
      primary focus is on the broader issues of access to higher education,
      telecommunications and technology, health care, sustainable development,
      energy and the environment.

      Job Title: Policy Analyst
      LIF is seeking an energetic, full-time Policy Analyst who will report
      directly to the Senior Program Manager for our Sustainable Communities and
      the Environment program. Through this program LIF works to ensure that all
      Californians have equal access to healthy environments, economic
      prosperity and social wellbeing. Our work specifically aims to: protect
      and improve the quality of the natural resources that are essential to
      building healthy communities, including air, water and land; increase
      public and private investments in low-income communities that expand
      economic opportunity, improve social infrastructure and protect natural
      resources; and ensure that public agencies and decision makers responsible
      for these issues are accountable to the Latino community.

      Job Summary:
      The Policy Analyst will advance the mission and goals of LIF by assisting
      with the implementation of the organization’s Sustainable Communities and
      the Environment Program. In this position the Policy Analyst will
      undertake a range of tasks including:
      ·                 Analyze existing environmental, environmental health and environmental
      justice policies including regulations, administrative procedures, laws or
      other policy vehicles;
      ·                 Develop policy briefs, publications or primers to educate residents,
      leaders, media and decision-makers;
      ·                 Present information to diverse constituencies including elected
      officials, civic and community leaders, other decision-makers, the media
      and the general public;
      ·                 Coordinate public forums, roundtables, seminars, policy and media
      briefings or other conveanings;
      ·                 Conduct regulatory or legislative advocacy to advance LIF’s policy agenda
      ·                 Complete other tasks or assignments as requested.

      Essential Qualifications and Skills:
      ·                 Excellent research and writing skills
      ·                 Excellent communication skills. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
      ·                 Willingness to work with broad based and multicultural coalitions
      ·                 Ability to work independently and as a team
      ·                 Demonstrated commitment to the Latino community
      ·                 Minimum of an undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study

      Given the breadth of LIF’s work, the specific work-plan will vary
      depending on current program priorities and the skills and experience of
      the Policy Analyst. The Policy Analyst position will be located in San
      Francisco, CA.

      Compensation and Benefits:
      Full-time. Salary commensurate with experience and competitive with other
      non-profits. Compensation includes health and dental insurance, a generous
      public transportation stipend and an exciting team-oriented work
      environment. This is an entry-level position at Latino Issues Forum.
