SCOPE: The Environmental Protection Agency is inviting fellowship
applications for students to pursue a research project that is
directly related to their field of study.
DEADLINE: January 29.
FUNDS: $300,000 is available for 30 awards.
ELIGIBILITY: The fellowships are open to any associate, undergraduate,
or graduate student meeting the following requirements: 1) is a U.S.
citizen or permanent resident; 2) is enrolled at an accredited U.S.
two- or four-year college or university or distance education
institution; 3) is pursuing an educational program directly related to
pollution control or environmental protection for the duration of the
fellowship; 4) has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale at the
time of application; and 5) has completed at least four courses
related to environmental studies.
AREAS: The fellowships provide students with practical research
opportunities in EPA's program and regional offices and in its
laboratories; increase public awareness of and involvement in
environmental issues; and encourage qualified individuals to pursue
environmental careers. The program will support work in academic
programs related to the field of environmental protection, such as
pollution control, science, engineering, technology, social science,
and specialty areas.
