Position: Assistant Project Manager
Location: Northern California
Start date: Immediate (November 2006)
The Hines West Regional Office (Hines West) presently seeks Assistant
Project Managers to assist with the asset management of existing properties,
contribute to the creation, design and implementation of new projects, and
analyze the feasibility of potential projects.
The ideal Assistant Project Manager (APM) candidate possesses the following
· MBA or equivalent education/training from a top tier program
· Several years of work experience in a professional environment
· Experience in project management, finance and/or transactions
Presently, Hines West has three immediate APM positions open:
Assistant Project Manager – Asset Management. Based in Silicon Valley, the
APM’s primary responsibility will be to identify, coordinate, and/or
undertake initiatives that add to the value of a 1.6 million square feet
portfolio recently acquired by Hines’ U.S. Office Value-Add Fund (VAF). The
APM serves as the point of contact with the VAF and communicates ownership
level direction to the property management, accounting and leasing staffs.
The APM oversees issues that the Property Manager, Controller and Leasing
Director may not and takes action to coordinate all activities in support of
the owner’s objectives, including the ultimate disposition of the portfolio.
Assistant Project Manager – Acquisitions. Based in San Francisco, the APM’s
primary responsibility will be to assist the Acquisitions/Development
Officers in acquiring investment properties and/or development sites within
the Bay Area. The APM will perform the underwriting, prepare the pro
forma/feasibility analyses, and draft term sheets for potential
acquisitions. The APM communicates regularly with senior Hines West
Officers and will be responsible for managing (in collaboration with the
Acquisitions / Development Officer and internal/external capital partners)
financing, due diligence and closing activities.
Assistant Project Manager. Based in Sacramento, the APM’s primary
responsibility will be to assist in the sourcing of new business
opportunities in the Sacramento region and to represent the Acquisitions /
Development Officer in Sacramento. The APM will perform the underwriting,
prepare the pro forma/feasibility analyses, and draft term sheets for
potential acquisitions. The APM communicates regularly with senior Hines
West Officers and will be responsible for managing (in collaboration with
the Acquisitions/Development Officer and internal/external capital partners)
financing, due diligence and closing activities. The APM will also assist
in the asset management of properties owned by various Hines-led ventures in
the Sacramento region.
Each Assistant Project Manager opening is an associate level position
designed to allow the individual to obtain significant experience in various
aspects of the development process. Candidates are encouraged to be
open-minded and flexible with respect to the immediate opportunities
described above, keeping in mind that the intent of each opening is to
prepare the APM for a Project Manager position on a development project
within Hines West. As such, ideal candidates will possess the skills,
aptitude and desire to excel in any of the positions described above.
