      Job Description:
      Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP) is an established non-profit
      organization that builds volunteer partnerships to rehabilitate homes and
      community facilities of low-income, elderly and/or disabled neighbors so
      they can live in warmth, safety and independence.  RTP services San Mateo
      county and Sunnyvale / Mountain View.  RTP Offices are located in Redwood
      City.

      Position Opening  CONSTRUCTION PROJECT COORDINATOR (CPC)

      Position Summary (complete job description available upon request)
      The CPC is a full-time, exempt position that provides coordination and
      oversight for renovation and modification projects, direct supervision and
      coordination of all off season projects and provides general oversight and
      supervision for summer youth renovation programs.  In addition, the position
      oversees the maintenance of the warehouse and equipment, purchases supplies
      and materials and solicits in-kind donations
      in support of all construction projects.  The CPC reports to the Program
      Director (PD) and helps recruit, train and retain general and skilled
      volunteers for all projects.

      PROJECT MANAGEMENT & YOUTH PROGRAMS (55%)
      Coordinate all aspects of renovation projects as assigned including:
      •                 Works with PD to coordinates the client selection process, conducting site
      visits and property inspections and makes recommendations for final
      selection
      •                 Works with PD to recruit, coordinate, train and retain volunteers,
      including soliciting skilled and general volunteers and developing
      appropriate volunteer training opportunities
      •                 Works with PD and staff to match skilled labor to specific projects
      •                 Serves as on-site project manager for projects without volunteer leaders
      •                 Coordinates building permit process as assigned
      •                 Coordinates debris removal
      •                 Works with the staff to evaluate programs
      •                 The CPC, under the supervision of the PD, will act as direct supervisor of
      all youth programs and projects.

      MATERIALS MANAGEMENT / HANDYMAN (25%)
      •                 Manages warehouse(s), including procurement of supplies, solicitation of
      discounts and donations and coordination of materials for all projects
      •                 Coordinates and manages all vehicles & equipment
      •                 Solicits and manages in-kind donations
      •                 Serves as resource for volunteer leaders on site projects, providing
      technical assistance as required for projects

      ADMINISTRATION (15%)
      •                 Oversees complete documentation and tracking of all project and volunteer
      files
      •                 Manages in-kind donor information on projects; works with development
      staff to oversee in-kind donation tracking and
      acknowledgements
      •                 Works with PD and bookkeeper as required to create project budgets, track
      expenditures and prepare financial reports as
      necessary in a timely manner
      •                 Plans, creates and produces manuals and trainings for volunteer leaders

      PUBLIC RELATIONS, OUTREACH & DEVELOPMENT (5%)
      •                 Represents RTP publicly at community meetings, with vendors, to potential
      sponsors and volunteers
      •                 Manages homeowner relations, communications and training
      •                 Assists with corresponding to and acknowledging volunteers, donors, and
      sponsors
      •                 Participates in Dreams Happen (biennial children’s playhouse auction) and
      other special volunteer and donor events.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
      The CPC position requires an individual with basic home renovation and
      repair skills and experience including; the knowledge and experience to work
      with power hand tools, people-oriented skills and communication,
      professional deportment and the proven ability to develop volunteer groups.
      •                 Strong customer service background and mindset, with superior
      interpersonal communication skills, including compassion and the
      ability to enter clients’ homes and businesses with respect
      •                 Experience working with leadership and program volunteers and ability to
      delegate effectively
      •                 Superb problem-solving skills
      •                 Very well organized and detail-oriented
      •                 At least 3 years verifiable construction or handyman experience and
      familiarity with construction industry
      •                 Basic computer skills (Mac) including MS Word, Excel
      •                 Knowledge of FileMaker Pro database a huge plus
      •                 Ability to work within a flexible schedule including weekends,
      particularly during the months of March – August, including attendance at
      some organizational events
      •                 Ability to excel in a team oriented environment
      •                 Ability to build effective relationships with people of diverse
      backgrounds
      •                 Commitment to serving low-income communities and ability to work with
      low-income clients
      •                 Experience and desire to work with youth volunteers
      •                 Valid California drivers license with clean record (finger printing is
      required)
      •                 Must be able to deal with physically demanding responsibilities, including
      lifting up to 70 pounds without assistance
      •                 Spanish language a plus, but not required
