      Position Summary

      This position provides assistance to individual fellows or research
      groups, including (but not necessarily limited to) performing statistical
      analysis, organizing and maintaining databases, conducting literature
      searches, abstracting documents, and presenting research results,
      primarily on issues relating to social welfare policy, labor markets, and
      demographics.

      Responsibilities

      Analyze and code quantitative data.
      Conduct statistical analyses of data. Includes organizing and maintaining
      databases and preparing analyses, charts, tables, and graphs.
      Perform literature searches, preparing and annotating bibliographies and
      abstracting data source materials.
      Contact government agencies and other organizations to request data and
      information.
      Provide editorial support for manuscripts.
      Present research results. May include preparing written reports as well as
      presenting results in seminars and other forums.
      Exercise initiative in providing research assistance.
      Perform administrative responsibilities as required.

      Qualifications
      Minimum B.A./B.S. degree in social sciences or public policy or equivalent
      experience. Some graduate training preferred.
      Experience in quantitative analysis and proven analytical ability.
      Experience with large household surveys such as the decennial Census is
      preferred.
      Solid computer skills. In your cover letter or resume, please provide a
      description of your experience with statistical software packages and the
      types of statistical analyses you have done.
      Statistical package – SAS is required, STATA is a plus
      Microsoft Office, Internet
      Bibliographic search engines
      Knowledge of GIS software and/or computer programming a plus.
      Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      Demonstrated interest and/or experience in policy analysis.
