There is currently one (1) position vacancy in the Planning Department. Planners for the City of Temecula enjoy the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects in a City that values innovative site planning, architectural quality, and maintenance of the quality of life. Planners have the opportunity to implement the General Plan Community Design Element, City-Wide Design Guidelines, and the progressive development standards contained in several new Specific Plans, which will guide the future development in the City. The Department has a progressive management style which enables each staff planner to serve as project manager of new development applications, including the environmental assessment, staff report preparation, and making public presentations to the decision-making bodies. The Department encourages teamwork and mentoring, and the Assistant/Associate Planner position is considered a journey-level position that helps interact with other staff to jointly develop recommendations on projects.
Requirements: Assistant Planner requires a minimum of one year of increasingly responsible professional planning experience, preferably in a municipal government environment. Associate Planner requires a minimum of three years of professional planning experience. A Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Public Administration, or a closely related field is required.
Salary: $3924-$5695 per month
