      Job Description:
      JOB ANNOUNCEMENT:                                  Self-Sufficiency Program Director

      HIP Housing, a non-profit affordable housing organization in San Mateo
      County, is seeking a full-time Program Director for its Self-Sufficiency
      Program for Families with Children. The Self-Sufficiency Program provides
      housing and support services to heads of household as they undergo job
      training and achieve employment that will lead to economic self-reliance.

      JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Interview, screen and select candidates for consideration by Selection
      Committee

      Conduct Case Management to program participants including assessing needs,
      establishing case plans, connecting participants to community resources and
      coordinating rental payments

      Plan and implement monthly workshops for participants and schedule childcare

      Coordinate the mentor project in collaboration with the Junior League of
      Palo Alto and the Mid-Peninsula

      Conduct outreach to community agencies, Property managers and Landlords

      Prepare reports to funders, conduct presentations at funding hearings and
      events

      Train and supervise Self-Sufficiency Intake Specialist


      How to Apply:
      Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in human services field, two years
      experience in case management with a low-income population and experience in
      program management and supervision are encouraged to apply. Knowledgeable
      about substance abuse, housing issues, domestic violence, and community
      resources. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively
      with community agencies and funders. Ability to travel throughout San Mateo
      County and have valid California driver’s license and vehicle. Basic
      computer background. Occasional
      evening and weekend attendance at meetings and events. Excellent written and
      verbal skills.
