      Program Manager

      Organization: Odyssey, Sacramento, California

      Odyssey’s Mission: Make public transport and other equitable, efficient
      transportation choices more competitive through policy reform and
      marketplace improvements.

      transportation that improves people’s everyday lives and the communities in
      which they live.

      Odyssey combines advocacy for transportation funding and policy reforms with
      projects to improve and promote transportation choices such as transit,
      walking and bicycling.  Our projects and programs have included:

       b.. Grassroots Organizing and Mobilization
       c.. California Alliance for Transportation Choices
       d.. Community-Based Transit Marketing and Outreach Projects
       e.. Mobility Marketing

      The Program Manager is responsible for leading existing and future
      marketplace improvement projects including Safe Routes to Transit and
      Walkability projects, Mobility Marketing, community-based outreach and
      marketing projects, and the Stockton Depot Neighborhood Revitalization
      project.  In addition, the program manager participates in organizational
      and project development, fundraising, and staff supervision.  The Program
      Manager reports directly to the Executive Director.

      Specific Responsibilities:

       a.. Lead, direct and oversee marketplace improvement projects, and ensure
      timely implementation and quality products.
       b.. With the assistance of the Operations Manager create and oversee
      project financial management and project budgets.
       c.. Supervise project staff.
       d.. Coordinate and conduct project stakeholder meetings.
       e.. Work with other senior staff to develop new programs and fundraising
      plans.
       f.. Represent the organization to other entities such as local and
      regional governments, state agencies, public officials and others.
       g.. Contribute to a productive, supportive, and fun work environment.


      Candidate Profile:

       a.. A Masters degree in Planning, Public Policy, or related field, and
      minimum of three years of work experience; or a Bachelor’s degree with
      minimum of five years of related work experience may substitute.
       b.. Proven ability to manage multiple projects with internal and external
      teams.
       c.. Experience with project financial and budgeting processes.
       d.. Working knowledge of transportation and land use planning.
       e.. Strong community outreach, organizing and collaboration skills.
       f.. Marketing/social marketing skills desirable.
       g.. Proven ability to supervise, support and develop project staff and
      volunteers.
       h.. Experience in organizational development and fundraising.
       i.. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
       j.. Research and analysis skills.
       k.. Comfortable in conducting presentations.
       l.. Computer literate.
       m.. Familiarity with geographic information system (GIS) software and
      practices, and socio-economic and demographic data a plus.
       n.. Knowledge of, or interest in, local, regional and state government
      functions in the state of California a plus.
       o.. Spanish proficiency desirable.


      Compensation:

      The compensation package is extensive and includes a competitive salary
      ($50,000+ DOQ), health and dental insurance, retirement and investment
      options.  Final salary will be based on the applicant’s qualifications and
      commensurate relevant experience.
