      Campaign.

NYC Apollo is a coalition of labor unions, environmental justice advocates,
businesses, educators, and community based organizations.  The coalition
seeks to foster job creation, reduce energy dependency, and promote economic
and environmental justice for communities most adversely affected by energy
and economic development planning in New York City.  NYC Apollo is part of a
      national movement, the Apollo Alliance.

The Campaign Director would have the following responsibilities:

?                     Facilitate the NYC Apollo coalition and campaign.

?                     Develop campaign strategies and goals for advancing
healthy schools, high performance affordable housing, sustainable economic
      development, and energy efficiency.

?                     Oversee all NYC Apollo advocacy, communications,
research, education, and public policy initiatives related to the campaign
      objectives.

?                     Deepen and broaden the coalition among labor unions,
environmental justice advocates, businesses, educators, and community-based
organizations, and build support in the faith and civil rights communities.

?                     Represent NYC Apollo in public events, conferences,
government hearings, and in the press.

?                     Serve as liaison to national Apollo Alliance.

?                     Oversee NYC Apollo Communications Associate, interns
      and volunteers.

      The ideal candidate will have:

?                     A minimum of three years of campaign management
experience, and ability to work with diverse stakeholder populations.

?                     A deep knowledge of NYC politics and city agencies

.                    Excellent organizational, writing, and communication
      skills.

.                    A firm commitment to social, economic, and
      environmental justice.

.                    An ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven
      environment.

.                    Knowledge of labor and environmental justice issues and
      movements is strongly desirable.

Interest and experience in fundraising desired but not required, as is the
      ability to speak Spanish.

Salary commensurate with experience.  Candidates of color are strongly urged
      to apply.
