      MIG is a multidisciplinary firm specializing in participatory
      planning, community design, communications, and management with
      offices in Berkeley, Davis, and Pasadena, California, and Eugene,
      Oregon. We have a staff of ninety professionals with backgrounds in
      landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, strategic
      planning, land use/regional planning, environmental planning,
      organizational development, management, environmental psychology,
      education, transportation planning, recreation, sociology, marketing,

      TRANSPORTATION PLANNING PROJECT ASSOCIATE

      JOB DESCRIPTION:

      Associates participate in all aspects of project design and
      implementation, including group facilitation, research, writing,
      development of materials, and client contact. Associates work
      closely with principals and project managers as members of
      interdisciplinary project teams and have opportunities for
      progressive responsibility.

      The Transportation Project Associate will work with Project Managers
      on a range of technical and non-technical public involvement programs
      and transportation planning projects, including regional transit
      agency work, as well as local, state and federal projects. The
      project associate will provide transportation policy planning
      services in the context of community development and community
      participation programs. We work on bicycle, pedestrian, public
      transit and some auto planning.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      Candidates for this position must demonstrate effective use of
      multiple skills. Process facilitation, personal organization, oral
      presentation and communication, research, writing, and interpersonal
      skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential
      competencies for the position. Specific requirements include:

      * A Masters in urban planning, transportation planning, traffic
      engineering or closely related field.
      * 1-3 years work experience desired.
      * Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication required.
      * Experience in group facilitation.
      * Good graphic communication skills a strong plus.
      * Strong interest in policy planning, community involvement,
      organizational development, training, and management.
      * Understanding of transportation planning and programming requirements.
      * Computer proficiency especially with Microsoft Office software:
      Word, Excel, and Access.
      * GIS a plus!
      * Bilingual ability (English-Spanish) a strong plus but not required.
      SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

      Annual salary range for this position is from $43,000 to $50,000
      depending on experience. Competitive benefits.

      PARKS AND RECREATION PLANNING PROJECT ASSOCIATE

      JOB DESCRIPTION:

      progressive responsibility. The Associate will be part of our
      dynamic team that serves as the center of excellence firm wide for
      parks and recreation planning.

      The Associate will be responsible for assisting in the development of
      comprehensive and strategic planning projects for agencies of all
      sizes. Candidates for this position must demonstrate a strong desire
      to excel in park and recreation planning, personal organization,
      research and writing skills, oral presentation skills, communication
      and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple
      priorities. The Associate will also provide support to a long-term
      natural resources planning project. Specific requirements include:

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      Candidates for this position must demonstrate effective use of

      * Master's degree in urban planning, landscape architecture,
      natural resources management or closely related field.
      * At least 1-3 years work experience desired; experience in park
      and recreation comprehensive and strategic planning is preferred.
      * Experience working with public sector organizations; consulting
      experience preferred.
      * Excellent writing skills and demonstrated experience in
      producing high quality planning documents required.
      * Ability to work with diverse groups, and to plan and implement
      workshops and non-traditional activities to involve the public in
      planning processes.
      * MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel required.
      * Hand graphic skills, Illustrator, Photoshop, Access, Quark
      Express, AutoCAD 2000 or better, and GIS skills are desirable.
      * Bilingual ability (English-Spanish) a strong plus but not required.
      * Expertise in park maintenance, recreation programming, park and
      recreation financing, cultural services, natural resources, trails,
      or another area of special expertise in parks and recreation is
      highly desirable.
