      ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
      CLEMSON UNIVERSITY RESTORATION INSTITUTE


      The Clemson University Restoration Institute invites applications for
      Assistant Director.  Duties will include the initiation of the campus-wide
      research entity and assuming considerable responsibilities including grant,
      proposal, and publication writing and administration, public relations,
      budget management, conference organization, strategic planning, and other
      duties as assigned by the Director.  This position may include faculty
      appointment at the rank of lecturer depending on candidate's qualifications.

      Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture,
      architecture, planning, or environmental design or engineering with 5 years
      of related professional experience.  A Master's degree with 2 years of
      related professional experience is preferred.

      The mission of the Clemson University Restoration Institute is to advance
      knowledge in integrative approaches to the restoration of historic,
      ecological, and urban infrastructure resources. The institute drives
      economic growth through the creation, development, and production of
      restoration industries and technology, patented advanced materials,
      cost-effective and environmentally sensitive land development and
      restoration practices and policies, and the development and renewal of
      restoration-related professional disciplines and highly trained workforce.
      Through its design studios and research laboratories at Clemson University
      and the Low Country of South Carolina, the Institute provides hands-on
      research and educational opportunities for undergraduate and graduate
      students through internships and industrial fellowships.

      Candidates for the position are asked to submit a cover letter detailing
