The San Jose Redevelopment Agency (SJRA) is dedicated to creating jobs,

economic revitalization in Downtown San Jose, our technology parks and
industrial areas, and our neighborhoods.
The SJRA is seeking a Development Officer to join the Industrial Development
The Industrial Development Division manages redevelopment projects and
economic development programs in five industrial areas and technology parks
and implements an SJRA core service to initiate and facilitate private
The ideal candidate to represent the Industrial Development Division is a
confident professional with excellent verbal and written skills, able to
communicate program objectives and project updates to partners in the
broker, developer and corporate communities, industry trade associations,
and state and federal agencies and international delegations as needed;
proficient in managing city land use and economic development policies, able
to manage consultant contracts and redevelopment infrastructure projects;
able to participate in retention and attraction of small to large businesses
in the five industrial areas and actively engage in facilitating the
development permit process with city departments; and work with a team of
highly motivated staff to implement and initiate strategic industrial
development goals. The ability to be a self-starter and assert oneself
through initiating contact and relationships with the private and corporate
sector is critical to this position.
Requires a BA/BS in public administration, urban planning, economics, or
related field and 4 years of related work experience. Annual salary starts

The SJRA is seeking a Development Specialist/Development Officer to join the
Downtown Management Division. The Downtown Management Division facilitates
the attraction and retention of retail businesses, and manages small
business assistance in the Downtown. The ideal candidate to represent the
Downtown Management Division is a strong project manager with excellent
verbal and written skills with experience in strategic planning, business
retention, marketing, promotions, and managing rehabilitation programs,
such as façade improvement projects. A bonus to this experience would be a
candidate with knowledge in retail development with the ability to
participate in the attraction and retention of small to large business to
the downtown. The ability to analyze and interpret data is highly desirable.
Development Officer position requires a BA/BS in a related field, and 4
years of related work experience. Annual salary starts at $77,090.51/yr.
Development Specialist position requires BA/BS in a related field, and 2
years of related work experience. Annual salary starts at $ 61,706.63/yr.
