      Mexico Solidarity Network
      Position available

      The Mexico Solidarity Network is looking for a grassroots organizer.  The
      Mexico Solidarity Network currently maintains offices in Chicago, San
      Francisco and Washington, DC.  The location of the job may be in one of
      these cities, or may be in another city, based on the qualifications of the
      applicant and the strategic aims of the Mexico Solidarity Network.  Major
      responsibilities include:
      · Developing a national grassroots solidarity network that supports
      liberation struggles and progressive policies in Mexico and the US.

      · Organizing speaking tours, delegations, and national campaigns focusing on
      US-Mexico relations, indigenous rights, human rights, labor issues and
      undocumented workers.  The campaigns include a semester-long study abroad
      program in Mexico and an alternative economy program in solidarity with
      women’s artisan cooperatives in Chiapas.  The job would include management
      and/or oversight of these campaigns as part of a collective staff.

      · Sharing office management and fundraising responsibilities with a
      collective staff.

      Successful applicants will demonstrate:
      - Strong political analysis and familiarity with US-Mexico relations
      - Strong writing skills in English, with writing skills in Spanish a bonus
      - Fluent in spoken English and Spanish, with experience doing public
      translations from Spanish to English
      - Experience in national grassroots organizing, minimum of three years
      preferred - Computer literate
      - Well organized
      - Willing to travel, at least two months and probably more each year
      - Experience in grant writing a bonus

      Starting salary in the mid 20?s, with a raise after six-month probationary
      period to $30,000.  Compensation package includes health insurance and four
      weeks paid vacation per year.  Please forward resume, writing sample and
