      JOB DESCRIPTION:   We are looking for a candidate with three or more years
      of progressive transit planning and/or engineering experience. Under FTA¹s
      project management oversight program, the candidate will assist San
      Francisco staff in monitoring and reporting the status of New Starts
      projects proceeding through PE, final design, and construction. Oversight is
      performed at the direction of FTA personnel in Chicago (currently) and
      Washington, D.C. Projects may be located throughout the U.S. Some travel is
      therefore involved.   Work products will likely include: monthly progress
      reports tracking FTA grantee issues and concerns; project budget analyses,
      planned vs. actual; special studies, designated spot reports, on a variety
      of planning, design and construction issues; meeting minutes; summaries of
      key issues; presentations (e.g., PowerPoint, graphics, tables) for FTA
      review; project invoicing and database management.   Being located in San
      Francisco office, there will be opportunities to work on local planning or
      engineering studies and to assist in the preparation of environmental
      documents.
      QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  Understanding of New Starts process a plus.
      Good report writing and analytical skills extremely important. Working
      knowledge of the NEPA process relative to the preparation of environmental
      documents desired. Skilled in various analysis and presentation computer
      programs, such as Powerpoint, Excel, MSProject. Masters in engineering,
      planning or economics desirable. Registration not required but professional
      registration/certification should be pursued.
