Intern Position Available at Strategic Economics
Strategic Economics is a consulting and research firm specializing in urban and regional economics and planning. The firm helps local governments, community groups, developers, and non-profit organizations understand the economic and development context in which they operate in order to take strategic steps towards creating high quality places for people to live and work. Strategic Economics is currently seeking an Intern to assist with consulting projects during the fall semester (and potentially beyond).
Strategic Economics is looking for an intern with solid analytical, research and writing skills, as well as background knowledge and interest in regional and local planning and economic development. Under the direction of senior staff, the intern will provide support for a variety of projects that might include:
- Market analysis for real estate and planning projects;
- Financing strategies for transit and other infrastructure;
- Fiscal impact analysis; and
- Regional economic analysis
The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in excel, familiarity with basic statistical methods, and/or GIS skills.
Time commitment: 10 – 20 hours/week
Compensation: hourly wage commensurate with experience
Expected Start Date: September 2014
