      CHPC is seeking a full-time, paid summer intern to assist the policy team with projects that support our mission of preserving and expanding California's supply of homes affordable to lower income households. Location: California Housing Partnership Corporation, San Francisco office. Anticipated Start Date: Late May/ Early June 2014 About CHPC: The California Housing Partnership Corporation (CHPC) is a statewide nonprofit housing policy and financial consulting organization whose mission is to assist nonprofit and government agencies to create and preserve affordable housing for low-income households.

      Primary Duties and Responsibilities: · Research and write report on local, state, and federal policies and initiatives related to “Housing as Healthcare.†Housing as Healthcare refers to housing that 1) provides care for medically vulnerable populations that do not need nursing home-level care but do need ongoing social and medical services, and 2) uses health care funding and savings to cover housing costs. (40%) · Conduct outreach to HUD-assisted property owners to determine their intentions of remaining in HUD Programs and/or inform them of their options to preserve the long-term affordability of their property. Track and analyze results; publish findings in the form of a final report. (30%) · Update CHPC databases, project records, directories, and listings. Create and maintain special project tracking reports and documentation. Provide administrative support to policy, preservation, and financial consulting teams. (20%) · Conduct other policy research under the direction of CHPC’s Housing Policy team. (10%)
