      The California Planning Foundation, APA's education/charity entity is offering a great opportunity to learn about bicycle planning in Davis. SJSU Emeritus Professor Earl Bossard has organized a tour showing many of the advancements in Davis bicycle facilities made since the annual tours enjoyed by MUP students between 1987 and 2009.  A great set of ride leaders, including MUP grad Jennifer Donlon-Wyatt (now a professional bicycle planning consultant), Davis Active Transportation Coordinator DK Kemp, Earl and others will lead riders through recent state-of-the-art improvements including protected two-way cycle tracks, a major road diet, as well as past colorful murals and a sustainable greenway behind downtown Davis.  Mike Corbett, a Time Magazine 100 Hero's of the Planet person, as well as the developer of Village Homes will be showing us Village Homes and introducing some of his recent Davis developments.

      Davis Bike Tour Details City of Davis and University of California, Davis - Pedal through America's most bike-friendly city and university with planners and city and university officials.Experience recent bicycle infrastructure innovations as the city seeks to become the first diamond level city recognized by the League of American Bicyclists. Follow some of the 100 miles of greenbelt bike paths, lanes, and trails in the city, as well as bike through the beautiful UCD Arboretum, and the 5th street road diet along the edge of the walkable Davis downtown. See world famous Village Homes and recent projects, as well as several LEED Platinum developments on the UCD campus, including path-breaking West Village.

      This event is a major fund raiser for the CPF planning grants awarded to SJSU MUP students every year.  Registration and details are available at:
