JOB DESCRIPTION: The Associate Planner’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with environmental planning and compliance activities, long range planning and policy development, compiling and analyzing technical information to support evidence-based environmental impact analyses, conducting general site surveys, conducting data research and analyses, developing sections of environmental documents including those required by NEPA and CEQA, and assisting with a variety of other projects.
The positions require a Bachelors or graduate degree in planning, environmental studies or closely related field, 3+ years of professional planning and CEQA/NEPA experience, or equivalent experience in a public agency. Public agency current planning experience is an added asset. Must have working knowledge of principles and practices related to city planning, land use planning, and state/federal regulatory processes. These positions will be based out of our Monterey, California, office. Candidates must be able to travel to other PMC locations, and client sites as needed. Consulting experience preferred.
Qualified candidates must possess excellent writing and communication skills, knowledge of planning and CEQA/NEPA, ability to work well independently and as part of a team, and be comfortable speaking publically and under pressure. Experience working at a public agency is preferred, but not required.
