The City of Oakland, CA is seeking a skilled professional to be its
Director of Planning and Building. The position is a key member of the
City�s Executive Team. The position plans, directs and oversees the work
and overall management of the Planning, Building, and Neighborhood
Preservation divisions. The successful candidate will bring experience and
skills to develop, plan and implement the department�s goals and bring
extensive knowledge of principles and best practices in urban planning.
S/he will demonstrate strong leadership articulating and implementing the
land use vision of the City and actively advocate for the City of Oakland.
Oakland is the 8th largest city in California. It is the center of commerce
and international trade for the Bay Area region with a vibrant local
economy and is one of the most diverse cities in the nation. The City
