      Job Summary NOTE:The University of California Regents has implemented pay
      reductions and furloughs due to the State of California budget crisis.
      This position may be subject to the pay reductions through August 31,

      This position will assist with the preparation of UCSF’s Long Range
      Development Plan (LRDP), which is the campus’ physical master plan that
      will guide the development of UCSF through the year 2030; this position
      will also assist with the preparation of the Environmental Impact Report
      (EIR) on the LRDP, which will be prepared pursuant to the California
      Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This position has an appointment for up
      to three years with the possibility of extension.

      Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree in urban planning, architecture,
      civil engineering or other planning/ environmental fields; four years of
      professional experience in city planning and large scale site planning; or
      an equivalent combination of education and experience; superior analytical
      and technical planning skills; experience preparing physical master plans
      and long range planning documents; current understanding of the California
      Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and familiarity with local and regional
      planning policies and procedures; exceptional written and verbal
      communication skills, including ability to communicate technical concepts
      to lay audiences; ability to work as part of a collaborative team as well
      as accomplish tasks individually; experience with Microsoft Office
      programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and graphics programs.

      Preferred Qualifications Masters Degree in relevant field may be
      substituted for two (2) years of professional experience; background or
      experience in a university, life/health sciences, medical center or
      biotechnology setting a plus; familiarity with UC requirements for Long
      Range Development Plans and six (6) years of related professional
