      by Mark Lakeman
      Co-Director, Creative Vision
      The City Repair Project
      Portland, Oregon
Hear Mark Lakeman, co-founder of City Repair, a citizen activist
organization in Portland Oregon that is building a more
community-oriented and ecologically sustainable society. They have
spawned numerous innovative public gathering places throughout
Southeast Portland, including Share-it Square and more than a dozen
projects built during the 2002 Natural Building Convergence that they
hosted. His1.5 hour slide presentation will compare the space-time
relationships of village cultures to the inversion of those
relationships in unsustainable culture. Learn how the re-creation of
Village is transforming neighborhoods and effecting profound change
within Portland's political leadership and bureaucracies.
