Group Description

Welcome to the Home Page of the Signalling Interest Group of Queensland.

Our mission is to record and preserve the Signalling and Safeworking equipment of the railways of Queensland. We are interested in the signalling and safeworking systems utilised by QR from 1865 to today.

We are interested in recieving photographs or information about signalling or safeworking systems in Queensland and sharing it with like-minded people.

We are also interested in assisting in your signalling project. Our members have experience in the restoration and operation of many types of signalling and safeworking equipment. Our members are keen to be involved in assisting with your project. Please contact us with more information about your project and how we might be able to assist.

The adjacent image shows the 30 lever frame in Glenmore Junction signal cabin, which has been relocated to the Mount Morgan Railway Station & Tourist Information Centre. It is a 4" pitch lever frame with duplex-tappet interlocking.
