Help!!! I've been having a very difficult time researching some information. I need to know the costs to the city of San Francisco of heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes - as well as environmental costs of meat and dairy to San Francisco. Of course this would be interesting information for my radio program GO VEGAN WITH BOB LINDEN, which airs in the Bay Area on GREEN 960 Sundays at 3pm, but a city official has invited me to present this information to support exploration of abolitionist legislative proposals. If we can ban plastic bags, it's time to ban something even more harmful - like meat and dairy.Time is running short and I need to develop the data ASAP...Where is the brilliant vegan research detective? www.GoVeganRadio.com

Have you tried the Department of Public Health? The DPH has a Department of Environmental Health, too. _Click here: San Francisco Environmental Health_

          Hi Bob,

Some things off the top of my head to maybe help a little - and great to know you're making this presentation; know that you have lots of support behind you:

One thing to remember is, if you can find those stats for the State of California, San Francisco has roughly 1/40 the population of California.

And if you can find those stats for the the nation, CA has roughly 1/9 the population of the USA.

The www.caldiabetes.org website I believe has it in a free downloadable report for diabetes alone, for the state, and even county by county.

The state and US depts of health may have stats for the cumalative disease costs.

EarthSave's report may have environmental costs of eating meat for the world, nation, and even some local areas.

There may be nation-by-nation sections of the UN Lifestock's Long Shadow report?

Perhaps The World Peace Diet has stats like that.

The "Peace with the Planet" and "peace with the body" chapters of Creating Peace by Being Peace is filled with vegan and meat eating statistics.

TrueCostofFood.org ?  (Not entirely vegan centered)

          PCRM?

          Let us know...

          When is the presentation?

          Blessings,
          Micha'el
