January-February 2009 issue of Audubon features The Low-Carbon Diet by
Mike Tidwell, who explains how a vegetarian diet can fight global
      warming at http://www.audubonmagazine.org/features0901/viewpoint.html
      & vegetarian resource page at

In addition to going meat-free, turning off unnecessary lights in high-
rise buildings at night can reduce greenhouse gas emissions & conserve
resources. Lights Out can reduce bird/building collisions (as birds
may confuse lighted skyscrapers with stars as navigational cues) &
increase the visibility of the night sky. Learn more about Lights Out
