Abortion and war are the collective karma for killing animals. The peace and pro-life movements will never succeed until the slaughterhouses are shut down. Through killing animals, peace and pro-life activists are only thwarting their own respective causes.

I realize even today, even in red states, animal activists aren't going to advertise themselves as saying (as I said to my friend Greg, in a 2009 phone conversation, when I spoke favorably of vegan congressman Dennis Kucinich D-Ohio [pro-life throughout most of his political career] saying that shutting down the slaughterhouses is the reincarnationist strategy for ending the abortion crisis!), "Join us, help us save animals from the butcher's knife, the experiments, the furriers' trap, the slaughterhouses, etc. which by the law of karma, is sentencing generations of unborn children to die."!And conservative religious pro-lifers are afraid of "cults" and/or being "converted" to "another religion," so if you actually take the time to read through my books and manuscripts, you'll see I've tried to show pro-life and/or peace activists in secular political language that abortion and war are the collective karma for killing animals.
(Ingrid Newkirk's own personal views on abortion aren't directly relevant, as she's tolerant of pro-life animal activists. Michael Steele, the first African-American chairman of the Republican National Committee from 2009 through 2011 was pro-choice, and the Republican Party itself advertises itself as a "big tent," for fear of losing votes. It doesn't occur to pro-life Republicans that animal rights organizations face an identical political reality?)
