      Sebastian Zösch, CEO of the German Vegetarian Union (VEBU), will speak about "Strategic Considerations in Promoting the Vegetarian Idea" this Wed. evening, Oct. 3 at 6 pm, at the Opera Plaza Community Room, 601 Van Ness, San Francisco. His talk is going to explore the best practices on how to work effectively for the vegetarian movement and communicate the message strategically.

      He speaks from experience. Herr Zösch promotes a plant-based lifestyle through his frequent media appearances. He received six international media awards for his role in charge of marketing the "cannibal restaurants" campaign, brought the "Vegan pledge" and the "Veggieday" campaign to Germany and initiated the "VeggieWorld", one of Europe`s largest fairs for a vegetarian and vegan lifestyle. Aiming at large caterers he initiated the government-funded GV-nachhaltig project, which amongst other achievements persuaded Berlin`s universities to offer a daily vegan option. Through political lobbying in Brussels and Berlin Sebastian has promoted the EU-wide legal definition and protection of the terms "vegetarian" and "vegan".

      First, enjoy a special dinner in honor of World Vegetarian Day. Prepared with skill by a certified Nutrition Consultant, the dinner focuses on healthy vegan nutrition. This is not vegan fast food. It is a different emphasis than what one might find in a vegan restaurant. The focus is nutritional excellence.
