PROPOSED ANIMAL WELFARE LEGISLATION - 2014
October 12, 2013
Greetings, all -
PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED, while you luxuriate in the signing of AB 711 (lead ammo ban) and AB 1213 (bobcat protection). Progress!
I need your help again.
I leafletted the State Capitol last Thursday (all 120 members), with a number of proposed animal bills to be introduced in January 2014, along with some supporting materials for each. (See attachment.)
Generally speaking, constituent requests carry more weight than those from outside the District. I'm hoping that each of you will contact your own State Senator and/or Assemblymember, and ask him or her to author one or more of these bills (or another of your own). And SOON. Most legislators will decide within the next few weeks what legislation to carry next year.
Even better, contact your reps, and set up a meeting in the District Office to discuss these bills. (Some contact info is included in the attachment. Or contact ACTION FOR ANIMALS for further info.) All legislators may be written c/o The State Capitol, Sacramento, CA 95814.
Many thanks. Do keep me posted.
