      Great as it is, the menu only tells part of the story. Patricia is a certified Nutritionist. She designs the dinner with special nutritional features built in and added. Before dinner is served, she explains the benefits of each menu item as well as nutrients she has added.       listen to a tour de force by Dr. Robert Lustig, MD, entitled, "Sugar: The Bitter Truth." Hosted by the Santa Cruz County Office of Education, Dr. Lustig, Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology and Director of the Weight Assessment for Teen and Child Health (WATCH) Program at UCSF, speaks via video about the role of sugar and the contribution of biochemical, neural, hormonal, and genetic influences in the expression of the current obesity epidemic both in children and adults.

      This is an amazing presentation chock-full of nutritional and biochemical information. Dr. Lustig goes into great depth about the impact of sugar and fructose on body chemistry. His presentation provides valuable information which you can utilize in preventing or reversing obesity.

      Location is the Opera Plaza Community Room, 601 Van Ness, San Francisco. Take the elevator to the first floor, then security will key you down to the mezzanine for the event.

      A fifteen dollar requested donation covers the all you can eat vegan dinner plus the presentation on sugar. The Nutritionist donates her time. Funds go toward facility rental, food, transport and other costs.
