Don't forget the Great Good Food Fair on Sat. Oct. 26 at Civic Center Plaza and 2 more films. See message below.
Dear Label GMOs Volunteers & Supporters,
This Saturday, the 26th, is the Greater Good Food Fair! We have an incredible line-up of speakers, including our own lovely Pamm Larry, who started the California initiative to label GMOs, and representatives from organizations ranging from community gardens and a restaurant workers rights organization to those focusing on policy and food safety. The inspiring Tezozomoc, National Defense Resource Council’s Growing Green Food Justice Leader of 2013 and leader of South Central Farmer Health & Education Fund, will highlight the event. More details on www.ggfood.org.
Now that you know you really want to go to this event, we need to ask for your help! We need a number of volunteers to staff the Label GMOs booth, help vendors unload and set up, keep an eye on rental equipment, check waste containers for overflow, and clean up at the end of the event. Please email Priscilla if you can help, and let her know what your availability is. She is currently scheduling shifts from 9am-12pm; 12-2pm; 2-4pm and 4-6pm. Her email is: priscilla.ggff@....
In addition, despite the very generous donations of our sponsors, we are running a few thousand dollars short of funds between permits, amplification, and stage/booth costs. Please be part of this community collaboration and chip in whatever you can! Every single dollar not only helps balance the budget, but gives us great encouragement. You can donate online at: http://www.razoo.com/br/causes/Greater-Good-Food-Is-Fair
Lastly, please join us for the final two films of the Film Series!
Wednesday evening we will be showing A Silence Forest and Seeds of Freedom at Matter of Trust (3338 17th Street at Valencia/Hoff) and
Thursday is our finale with Symphony of the Soil, followed by a discussion with UC Berkley scientist and narrator of the film, Ignacio Chapela. More details and trailers at: http://greatergoodfilms.wix.com/filmseries
Thank you so much for your encouragement and support!
